I have given this system all the time to recover that I can. 6 months of straight losses is just too much. I will contine watching the system and when it shows 3 or 4 months in a row of positive returns I might re-subscribe. Hope it turns around soon...
One of the rare ETF systems on C2 that is not only well diversified across uncorrelated assets but also practices rational position sizing and stringent risk management. A gem that is suitable for serious stock market investors but not for those who want hyper-active trading every day.

How long can it be learned that Mr. Market is always right? Anything blocking his way will be crushed, like a pathetic bug.
At this point ETF Timer has only 28 trades under its belt which is hardly statistically significant. This means performance up to this point may in all likelihood be just plain dumb luck. Just because the system has been around for a while does not negate the fact that there are not enough trades yet form an educated opinion one way or the other. At this point, IMO, it's just a crap-shoot to throw money at this system.
If you agree with the "system description" then this system for you but you have to have a strong stomach to sit through $2000 dd to make $100. Sooner or later one of these dd won't come back and will wipe out 4 months of returns.
Came over from the other version of ETF Timer but I think both of these will move about the same. The other system averaged 5 percent a month through 2008, 2009 up to June of 2010 which is very good IMO. It took a few wrong turns recently but I will hold out for a while to see if it comes back to its previous returns.
I disargee with the review below. ETF Trader did quite well before the 2008 crash with only one loosing trade until Oct. 2008. I am not sure why the system has not been working lately, but every system has draw downs.

But I am most disappointed by the vendor's attitude. At the beginning he communicated with the subscribers and tried to create with youtube videos the impression of big all-around-the world trading firm, but ever since September the losses started to mount up and we never heard from him again. What a shame! Warning for everyone, do not subscribe to any system without some solid track record from which you can evaluate the investment strategy.

Thankfully, I sold off my positions and bailed out of this system yesterday. Holding a 3x leveraged ETF like TNA for multiple days is dangerous enough. But buying this stock on Monday at the high and then selling it off before a rebound today is just bad strategy.
Obviously this system is a perfect example of what others keep saying in the forums... A system should have a track record of six months or more before you consider putting your money into it.

This system looked promising when I subscribed in July, but since then seems to have lost its way. I do not like how profits are taken too quickly as on 09-30-10 in the TNA and EDC trades.
Im an amateur market technical analyst and I write a weekly market review on another website. Its clear to all of us that ETFtimer has had some problems with whipsaws lately, all systems do, and its my opinion he has missed a tradable intermediate term rally going on since the end of August. I consider this trivial. What he has done spectacularly well is that after the 2007 important market top he aggressively traded the 2008 downtrend with short funds, something I never had the nerve to do on my own, and then in 2009 he aggressively traded the rally off the important market bottom, all with excellent risk management and getting it right when it mattered most. Slightly disappointing when one subscribes to a system for over $100 per month and it produces no trades. Do not be taken in by the high frequency, this system has only put in a few trades over a couple of months. Also interest that it made two of its largest profits on extremely risky trades.
This developer needs to do two things: 1) Create versions of ETF Timer and ETF Timer Ultra that are long-only (2008 was an anomaly; over the long run, long-only trend-following systems can produce strong risk-adjusted returns, whereas those that go short do not); 2) Only charge subscribers when the system is profitable during the 30-day subscription period (or switch to quarterly subscription periods and do the same thing). Until this happens, you can add me to the list of long-time subscribers that are done with this developer. I’ve learned a very expensive lesson.
Beware. I autotraded at 100% for almost a year, until Oct 2010. After deducting subscription fees, commissions, slippage, and losses due to occasional autotrading sync errors, I ended up losing $15,000 as net result. This is the danger of a high frequency trading system.
Probably the best looking realistic graph on C2 for 2 1/2 years. Simple to follow, scaleable, and liquid system. Alas, it has reversed. Its a tough call when to leave a system. Is short term underperformance an aberration or the start of a trend? For me, for now, its time to move on.
Third succesive month of losses now. The vendor lets losing trades run deeply into losses, more than wiping out the premium collected from the other tardes. The trades seem to be done based on hunches rather than with any underlying strategy. Exmple: the system sold a put on the VXX on the basis that the market had become "complacent".
Very impressive performance. One of the best here. The developer has been able to pull off some deep DDs. Wish he could leave couple trailers to get better returns and offset trading expenses which takes out about 20 percent of GP.
Developer has solid money management skills and methodology. Win/loss ratio, profit factor, and sharpe ratio will say it all. Easy to contact developer, and he answers all questions quickly and professionally. I'm giving it 5 stars for now and I hope this performance continues in the coming months.
