With an annual compounded return of less than 70 percent and a max drawdown of almost 40 percent, its hard to justify continuing with this system. The oscillations worked nicely till January 2011 after which things seem to have gone kaput.
If you zoom the chart on July 2010, you will notice that this system has very underperfomed the benchmark. Also, this system is 2X leverage, so the final performance is very poor. it is better to buy the index and avoid spending dollars for SP ETF Timer
It rocks to see somebody who DOES what he SAYS and writes about so when you think "Does this guy really beat the market?" you just have to come here, check his system. Hell, he's good.
I like this system. I trade it together with INVERTERATE - 1 Day Only and Stock Swing Trader. BTW, the vendor should have left out the "and" sign out - even here I cannot type it in - between S and P in the systems name because it does not register when one tries to type it into the search box in order to make chart comparisons. I wonder how many people missed it because of that.
Euro 30 had a short but good run, now the character of the market has changes and the system developer does not know what to do in order to bring the system back to profitability.
The first 4 mos of this discretionary system were great, but June is a wreck: 36 trades, 26 losers. Avg win $71, avg loser $97. June weeks were: -$671, -$406, -$172, -$576 and counting. Drawdown is a normal process, but consistent bad performance almost every day this mo, 3 days out of 4, is worrysome. $185 subscription fee feels inadequate at this point. 3 stars, but only because of overall 5 mos performance, otherwise June is 0 stars.
The loss made in HRBN was very unluckily having a stock drop 50%. However to result in a large portfolio draw down of 17% does highlight system failings in either stop losses or position size management. 4 loosing months in a row wasn’t really the absolute return i was looking for.
Yet another high-flying C2 system bites the dust. This used to be a nice, steady system -- just look at the equity curve -- but now with a 35 percent max drawdown, in a matter of just a few days, its suitable only for gunslingers. Caveat Emptor!
Holy crap! I looked away for a couple of days and this system has just about blown out half of my account. Somebody needs to seriously reprogram the computer algorithms.
It is relatively easy to trade when market shows strong momentum in one direction but this vendor even cannot do that. He has absolutely no ability to read market direction correctly. He lacks discipline when applying his own rules. Result: wiping out 4 months of gains in a fortnight. Potential subscribers, stay away.
Vendor is extremely irresponsible at managing trades. When there is a losing position he disappeared and did not log on for almost half a month until the market reversed slightly in his favor then he came on to close the position. There is no risk management at all whatsoever. Just letting the losers run,
I think 89 percent is a high win rate, and unlike some other systems here it is not achieved by stubbornly holding through deep drawdowns. Stops are wide but at least they are there and respected. I think if the developer maintains this consistent approach this will be a long term winner.
Hubris! After a winning streak vendor apparently thought he had discovered the wholy grail of trading and continued with leaving large risky positions overnight and followed up with a flurry of trading which looked more like revenge trading. What a shame that he lost his discipline with a system that started out so promising.
This is a discretionary trading system so the consistency is not there. There were a lot of emotion involved. It is in the down trend right now. Results speak louder than words and past results are what we base on to chose the system
Went live in late May right before things went south, and am now down a lot of money. Sadly the system has been a big disappointment.
Seems to regularly increase positions in losing trades only to exit them soon afterwards at an even larger loss, and not infrequently allow winners to turn into losers.
Its not the only system to suffer in the current directionless market, but rather than back off, the system publisher is continuing to trade at a similar rate of 50-80 market orders per day.
Extremely poor system developer keeps on averaging down losing positions and does not exit winning positions until all profits are lost. To sum up the goal of the strategy is to not win.
System had a good initial run riding a strong trend in silver. When the trend ended, trading became frantic, always a step behind the latest small move. The result is the "death by a thousand cuts" current 40% draw-down in equity right now. Sharpe ratio has dropped ~four points so far during this period. Developer also has had a lot of technical glitches dealing with C2, one of which caused an automatic margin call a few weeks ago that liquidated all positions. Another reminder to stay away from newer systems until they have proved their mettle.
This system not only has a low winrate and a low sharpe ratio, not only it keeps the losing positions for a long time, it has a martingale-type position management which adds to the losing position. If you like a slow and painful wipe out go for this strategy.
